Prepare or teach. One assessment for everyone.
To earn the credential, choose how to study: on your own, with an instructor or in a class. To teach, get your organisation approved or apply as an instructor. Either way, the credential is earned in the same certification exam, drawn from the same item bank and marked against the same passing score.

Preparation is your choice
DPCert sells no mandatory course. Study in the way that works for you and sit the certification exam when you are ready. Training partners prepare candidates; they never see exam items and have no say in the result. The credential comes from passing, and anyone can verify it.
Three ways to work with us
Training and certification stay separate. Partners teach data protection and Responsible AI; DPCert assesses, with the same certification exam for every candidate, however they prepared.

How approval works
Organisations go through an automatic checklist when they apply and again every year. Instructors are reviewed by the DPCert team before they join the directory.
What approval requires
- A syllabus mapped to the published domains of the certification taught
- Instructors who hold at least one valid DPCert credential (the RAIF counts)
- Published course dates, prices and cancellation terms
- Agreement that DPCert never shares certification exam questions with partners, and that partners never present themselves as DPCert or issue its credentials
What the audit checks
- Syllabus mapped by domain
- Instructors with a valid DPCert credential
- Public course page that names the certification
- Email on the website domain
Terms
- Organisation approval is valid for 365 days and is renewed by the annual audit, which starts 30 days before it expires.
- A missing item in the audit triggers a warning, and there is until the expiry date to fix it. If the approval expires without a fix, the organisation leaves the directory until it applies again.
- Instructors are listed without the annual audit, which applies to organisations only.
- No fee in the first year of approval.
The last point is not negotiable, and it is what makes the credential worth carrying: a partner who could see the exam would be teaching the answers rather than the subject. Keeping training separate from certification is one of the ISO/IEC 17024 principles our process is designed with reference to.
